Building Power Generation Capacity for one of Africa’s fastest growing countries

In 2013, Remote started development of an 8.5 megawatt solar power plant as local partner to Gigawatt Global. We delivered multi-modal feasibility studies from Rwanda, coordinating activities of arriving technical teams and executives, and worked the local Government and utility communication channels.

Success through Hard Work

By early 2014, our client had signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement.

Remote was integrated first into a co-located team with the Engineering, Procurement and Construction contractor, Scatec Solar, to deliver the project. We eventually managed all construction on their behalf and delivered the project in record time.

Seven months after signing the agreements, the plant was commissioned and supplying 6% of Rwanda’s total electricity through clean energy.
