Water is life
We capped three natural springs in the mountains of Bikenge in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and stored the water in a 200,000 liter reinforced concrete reservoir.
Over the course of several months we then welded 26-kilometers of HDPE pipeline through fields and forest — accessible only on foot — to a huge series of community taps. Due to the distance traveled each day to reach the site, we used large tracked pipe welding machines that could hydraulically lift, place, and weld the pipe.
A Path to Sustainability
Bringing critical utilities like water to the population around the national park has meant less encroachment on the jewel of the DRC and its resources.
