Building the Potential for Peace

Remote built the largest public building in eastern DRC on the busiest border in Africa “Grande Barrière”. The administrative bloc serves as a one-stop-border-post and office for the General Directorate of Immigration, handling over 5,000 incoming and outgoing visitors from Rwanda to Goma, DRC on a daily basis.

What was it like working between two countries?

A temporary immigration office was installed within the site and had to remain fully-functional throughout the two year construction period. Working adjacent to a lively international border required extensive security and health & safety measures to be assessed and implemented. The Remote team safely delivered the facility with a high-level of quality despite the notoriously difficult operating conditions at the border.
